New approaches to shrimp disease prevention and control, these methods are worth considering
New approaches to shrimp disease prevention and control
For shrimp viral diseases, the scope of outbreaks is wide, outbreaks are rapid and violent, and the mortality rate is extremely high, so farmers turn pale at the mention of disease. Conquering shrimp viral diseases has become a worldwide topic. In recent years, countries such as Europe, America, and Japan have invested large amounts of funds and manpower in tackling the problem, and their research direction is without exception how to keep the shrimp growth environment relatively constant. But the seawater environment changes dynamically, so this approach is extremely difficult, and because of high costs, it is very hard to have value for market promotion. Recently, professors and experts from the College of Animal Sciences at Zhejiang University discovered in research the mechanism by which the virus causes disease: changes in the external environment mainly affect the blood and digestive systems in the shrimp body, and if either of these two systems has a problem, the latent virus in the shrimp body will be activated. On this basis, the experts took a unique path and adopted a research direction different from that abroad: through biological preparations, stabilize the shrimp digestive system and blood system, improve disease resistance, and achieve the goal of suppressing disease onset. The experts therefore devoted themselves to developing biological preparations, and after two years of hardship, they finally succeeded. In the experimental pond of the Ningbo Damutu No. 2 Farm, 113 mu of shrimp reached the standard for commercial shrimp after three months of stocking, without any abnormal disease symptoms.
