Hello. Peonies have a relatively high fertilizer demand, so sufficient base fertilizer should be applied. For base fertilizer, farmyard manure is suitable, and 50 kg-70 kg should be applied per hole. The fertilizer should be placed at the bottom of the hole. The method is: first dig a hole; the size of the hole is determined by the amount of fertilizer applied, and the width should be between 60 cm-70 cm. Put the fertilizer into the lowest layer of the hole, then cover it with a layer of moist fertile soil, leaving 15 cm-20 cm from the soil surface above, which makes it easier to plant the seedlings. After planting, topdressing is generally needed 3 times per year: the first is pre-flowering fertilizer, applied in late March, with decomposed dried human manure or cake fertilizer. The second is post-flowering fertilizer, applying phosphorus fertilizer and cake fertilizer once. The third is leaf-fall fertilizer, applied in early November before the ground freezes, to protect and improve soil fertility and ensure safe overwintering. Each fertilization should be done together with watering.
