The correct method for artificially assisted nursing of newborn rabbits

Artificially assisted nursing of newborn rabbits
For the occasional doe with weak maternal instincts that will not nurse her newborn rabbits, artificially assisted nursing should be used. The method is to hold the doe so that the newborn rabbits can take the teats under her belly and nurse while lying on their backs; repeat the assistance for three consecutive days so that the doe develops the habit of nursing. For a doe that has given birth to too many young, some of her newborn rabbits can be transferred to a doe with fewer young to nurse them, which is called foster nursing. Note that before the transfer, a little of the foster doe's milk or urine should be smeared on the bodies of the fostered newborn rabbits. Otherwise, because the scent differs, the foster doe will bite the fostered newborn rabbits to death or injure them.
