Postpartum Care Methods and Precautions for Mother Rabbits
Care of Mother Rabbits After Kindling
After a mother rabbit finishes kindling, a mother rabbit with good maternal instincts will cover the young rabbits with fur, then jump out of the kindling box and urgently need to drink water. At this time, you can give her the lightly salted water prepared in advance, add some brown sugar, and then feed her fresh, clean tender grass. At the same time, take out the kindling box, count the number of young rabbits, remove dirty fur, blood-stained fur or stillborn fetuses, replace with clean bedding straw, and then cover the young rabbits with fur again; when the weather is hot, there is no need to cover them with fur. Within three days after kindling, you can give the mother rabbit 0.5 grams of sulfathiazole and one tablet each of soda tablets daily, which can prevent the mother rabbit from developing mastitis, vaginitis, abscesses, and young rabbit pyosepticemia.
