Raising rabbits in winter requires strengthened nutrition
In winter, domestic rabbits consume more calories, so the feeding amount should be increased by one third compared with other seasons, and especially some high-energy feed (such as corn) should be given. The feed should be a mix of concentrate and roughage, and a mix of green and concentrate feed, to enhance the rabbits' appetite. Feed a meal of green feed at noon every day, such as vegetable leaves, carrots, white radish, barley sprouts, etc., to supplement the lack of vitamins. Dry roughage is best crushed first, then mixed into wheat bran, bean dregs or bran, add a small amount of water and mix well before feeding to the rabbits. The dryness and wetness of the feed should be such that it can be squeezed into a ball by hand. If dry grass or dry feed is fed, nursing mothers and female rabbits before and after kindling should be provided with sufficient drinking water at all times. It is best to feed warm boiled water. Feeding frozen feed is strictly prohibited.
