Careful Rearing Methods and Management Key Points for Young Rabbits
Careful Rearing of Young Rabbits
Because the digestive organs of young rabbits are not yet fully developed and they have high requirements for feed, they should be fed feed that is small in volume, easy to digest, highly palatable, and high in nutritional level. Feed fresh, non-moldy and non-spoiled, easily digestible green feed 3 to 4 times a day, and concentrate feed 2 times, preferably cornmeal, wheat bran, soybean cake or soybean residue; a small amount of fish meal or bone-and-meat meal can also be added, 15 to 30 grams per day, and an appropriate amount of root feed such as carrots should also be given. Weak young rabbits should be supplement-fed with milk, soybean milk, growth promoters, and so on. Adding 0.5% to 1% baking soda or 2% to 3% lime to the daily ration of young rabbits helps improve their survival rate.
