Symptoms of rabbit coccidiosis
Symptoms of rabbit coccidiosis: Rabbit coccidiosis has no characteristic clinical symptoms. It generally presents as reduced appetite or loss of appetite, poor spirits, lying prone and motionless, dull eyes, increased eye and nasal discharge, anemia, diarrhea, or alternating diarrhea and constipation. Affected rabbits urinate more frequently or often assume a urination posture, and young rabbits with coccidiosis grow slowly. Due to intestinal bloating, a bladder full of urine, and liver enlargement, affected rabbits show abdominal distension. In the terminal stage, affected rabbits develop neurological symptoms, with limb spasms or paralysis, the head tilted backward, and the hind legs stretched out and paddling, followed by death with a scream. The time from onset to death varies, generally from more than 10 days to several weeks.
