Characteristics of Jinnan cattle
Jinnan cattle are produced in Shanxi Province, with the best quality found in Wanrong, Linyi, Jiangxian and Xiexian.

Jinnan cattle have a tall and large frame with strong, solid bones. Bulls have a moderate head, a broad forehead and a wide mouth, commonly known as a "lion's head." Cows have a delicate head, a deep and wide chest, a straight back and loin of moderate length, a relatively narrow rump, solid limbs, and large, round hooves with deep red hoof walls. Bulls have round horns with thick bases, while cows' horns are mostly flat and curved upward, with waxy yellow horn color and jujube-red tips. The coat color is mostly red, followed by yellow or brown, and the coat is glossy. The basic characteristics are: lion's head, tiger's mouth, rabbit's eyes, wind-following horns, wooden-bowl hooves, forelimbs like pillars, and hindlimbs like curved bows.
