Method for determining when to slaughter fattened cattle based on body condition
The body condition of cattle is an important factor in deciding whether they are ready for slaughter. After fattening, feeder cattle become broad and full in shape, with abundant fat and thick flesh; the entire trunk takes on a barrel-like form, the head, neck and limbs are thick and solid, the back, loin and shoulders are broad and full, and the rump (rear end) is round, thick and solid. When you touch the cattle's back and loin, rump, tail base, shoulder blades, shoulder points, ribs, belly and other parts and feel thick muscle and soft, pliable subcutaneous tissue, and when you touch the base of the ears, the area around the front and rear ribs and the scrotum and feel a large amount of fat deposition, this indicates good body condition and the animal can be slaughtered.
