Method for determining the slaughter of fattening cattle based on appetite
Determining slaughter based on appetite is further divided into two methods. Absolute feed intake: the absolute feed intake increases as the fattening period is extended. If a downward trend in feed intake appears, it indicates that the fattening cattle are about to reach the end of the fattening period. If the feed intake drops to one-third of the normal feed intake or less, fattening should be ended.
Appetite: In the late fattening stage of feeder cattle, if appetite decreases and feed intake declines, and after some measures to stimulate appetite the cattle's appetite still cannot recover, it indicates that compensatory growth has ended and they should be slaughtered in time.
