Feeding Methods and Technical Points for Meat-Type Muscovy Ducks

After Muscovy ducklings hatch and their down dries, they should be given drinking water immediately. In winter, the water temperature should preferably be 15 to 20%; it is best to add 0.01% multivitamin glucose or white sugar with multivitamins to the water. To prevent enteritis, after 3 days of age, 0.02% antibacterial drugs (such as antibiotics, etc.) can be added. One to 2 hours after the ducklings first drink, they can be fed. The feed can be sprinkled directly on plastic sheeting or newspaper to let them eat freely; the feed can be mixed powder feed, or partially cooked rice, broken rice, or congee, etc. From 3 to 5 days of age, they can be fed some chopped earthworms, loaches, small fish and shrimp, maggots, and other animal-based feed. In addition, some green feed must also be provided.
