How to carry out disinfection treatment during the temporary holding of bloodworms

Disinfection treatment during the temporary holding of bloodworms
Bloodworms are the best opening feed for eel fry cultivation. Since bloodworms themselves carry a large amount of filth and pathogenic bacteria, after farms purchase bloodworms, the filth must be completely discharged through temporary holding and rinsing, and before feeding, a scientific and reasonable method must also be used for disinfection to avoid disease outbreaks.
The specific measures are briefly introduced as follows:
1. Rinsing The bloodworms to be fed must be purchased 3~5 days in advance and placed in a bloodworm pond for temporary holding. During the temporary holding period, running water should be maintained and the bloodworms should be frequently turned and stirred so that dead worms, filth, and impurities flow away, allowing the filth inside the bloodworms to be completely discharged.
2. Crawling to activate After 12 hours of temporary holding, once the bloodworms have recovered their activity, cover them with a bloodworm frame (a rectangular wooden frame made of sieve cloth and wood, slightly smaller than the bloodworm pond) and press it down to make them crawl, letting the bloodworms drill out through the mesh and crawl onto the mesh surface. Then scrape and rinse the fresh live bloodworms on the mesh surface into other ponds to continue rinsing, so that the fresh live bloodworms are separated from dead worms and filth. After 3~4 rounds of crawling to activate, the dead worms and filth among the bloodworms have basically been almost completely removed.
3. Disinfection There are many and varied methods for disinfecting bloodworms. It is recommended to use an air compressor and air stone pump for aeration, in a large plastic barrel or wooden barrel with a volume of about 100 liters (can hold 170~200 jin of water), using 80% of its capacity, and each time 40-50 kg of bloodworms can be disinfected (worms:water = 1:1). Under the stimulation of continuous aeration, the vitality of the bloodworms will not decline. Antibiotics used to eliminate pathogens can be oxytetracycline hydrochloride 0.5 g/kg water or oxolinic acid 0.5 g/kg water and other drugs used together with 5‰ salt, or ClO2 or potassium permanganate, etc. may also be used, with treatment for 1 to several hours. After the medicated bath, place the bloodworms again at the water inlet of the bloodworm pond to flush and rinse, so as to wash away dead worms and residual medicine. Before feeding, scoop them out, add Baoganning 4# 2~3 g/kg bloodworms + Nanda-eel health supplement 2 g/kg bloodworms, stir evenly, and feed directly. (Note: The main ingredients of Baoganning 4#: various soluble high-calcium tablets and vitamins, feeding attractants, etc. Its function is to address the insufficient nutrition of bloodworms, reduce the number of third-class fry, enhance the disease resistance of the fish body, and reduce the occurrence of stress. The main function of Nanda-eel health supplement is to prevent Edwardsiella disease, and it is recommended to use the medicine 2~3 days per week.)
Whenever the above methods are used to treat bloodworms, during the white fry cultivation stage, the occurrence of Edwardsiella disease and white diarrhea can be effectively prevented, laying a good foundation for the smooth grow-out of commercial eels later, shortening the breeding cycle, and reducing breeding costs.
