Common storage methods for black soybeans
The suitable storage temperature for black soybeans is 8-10°C. If the temperature is too low, they are prone to cold damage, showing sunken rust on the pods, and some develop water-soaked lesions that then rot.

The gas composition for controlled atmosphere storage is 2%-3% oxygen and less than 10% carbon dioxide. The common storage methods are as follows:

Put washed edamame into boiling water at 100°C and blanch for about 2 minutes. Remove and immediately place in cooling water to cool to room temperature. Drain the water, put them into plastic bags, and expel the air. Place the plastic bags in a quick-freezing warehouse at -25°C. After they are fully frozen, place them in storage bags at -18°C, where they can be stored for a long time, generally limited to half a year to one year.

Put the beans into 0.01 mm polyethylene plastic bags, 5 kg per bag, seal the film opening, add 0.5-1 kg of slaked lime into each bag, and store in a cold storage room. Fumigate with 0.01 ml/L sec-butylamine for preservation. The storage temperature is 8-10°C. Open the bags every 10-14 days for inspection. This method can store them for about 30 days.
