Treatment of sows that do not come into estrus or are infertile due to reproductive tract inflammation
Treatment methods for sow reproductive tract inflammation: intramuscular injection of penicillin and streptomycin, 2 times a day, for 3 to 5 consecutive days; or use traditional Chinese medicine: 40 grams of Leonurus japonicus (Chinese motherwort), 24 grams of Paeonia lactiflora (white peony root), and 24 grams of Angelica sinensis (Chinese angelica), grind together into a fine powder and mix into the feed for oral administration (the above dosage is to be taken in 2 divided doses per day), for 7 consecutive doses (7 days); if white, yellowish-white, or gray foul-smelling discharge has already appeared at the vulva, then flush the uterus with 1/1000 potassium permanganate until the discharged fluid no longer contains pus, once a day, for 3 consecutive flushes. For the above three treatment methods, severe cases may be treated simultaneously.
