I believe everyone is very familiar with the spider plant. If grown well, the spider plant will grow into a full pot. Keep one at home, and its stems hang down like a waterfall, especially beautiful. It can not only purify the air, but also make the home more lively for viewing. However, some people always fail to grow spider plants well and encounter various problems, and black leaf tips are very common. So, what causes spider plant leaf tips to turn black, and how do you solve it?

1. Temperature too high, no attention paid to shading

For spider plants, if the temperature is too high, especially in summer when temperatures get relatively high, and spider plants do not like high temperatures but prefer semi-shaded, humid environments, then if the temperature is too high and no proper shading is provided, spider plants can easily develop black leaf tips.

Solution: If the black leaf tips are caused by excessively high temperature, promptly move the spider plant to a semi-shaded environment, then remove the leaves that have already turned black and withered. During normal care, spray some water on the leaves, and this will let the spider plant leaves easily return to normal.

2. Too much water accumulated in the potting soil, root rot

During normal care, if you are not careful, many reasons such as watering too much, watering too often, or the potting soil not being loose can all cause root rot in spider plants. If the spider plant's roots rot, it cannot properly absorb water and other things from the soil, causing the leaves to lack nutrients and resulting in black leaf tips.

Solution: Take the spider plant out of the pot, remove the soil, remove the rotten roots while keeping the good roots, then repot the spider plant in clean soil. When watering, keep the potting soil moist. After the roots have fully grown back, repot it again in fertile cultivation soil.

3. No repotting for too long, so the roots cannot grow

If the spider plant has not been repotted for too long, its roots fill the pot, so the spider plant cannot grow well in the pot and does not have enough space to grow. This makes the spider plant grow poorly, and the roots are prone to shrinking and dying, causing the spider plant to develop black leaf tips.

Solution: If the spider plant's black leaf tips are caused by this reason, promptly repot the spider plant, remove the bad and aged roots, then also remove the parts with black leaf tips, then repot the spider plant again, and place it in a cool, humid, and semi-shaded place for care. After some time, the spider plant will return to normal.
