Everybody, the universally beloved Hohoda is here~ Do you still remember me? (See the Encyclopedia's historical article "Flowers and Youth: The Youth Is Just Nineteen, and Has Been Growing Succulents for Three Years Already!")

Next, I must honestly tell all you flower lovers about the disaster horror film: "Surviving Summer" has already been released across the country

Everyone is welcome to watch it at major cinemas...

As a sewer boy from the slums, carrying bricks every day~ digging soil every day, although I have no time~ but~ I still go to watch it... From every strand of my hair to my toenails, I can feel that this year's summer in Chishui is no simple matter... Surviving summer limits my imagination, but it cannot stop my pace of loving succulents!

Yay or nay?

Yay~ yay~ yay~ yay~ yay~

In 2016, I saw a succulent recommendation on TB. It said that even a single leaf could take root and sprout. I thought it was so amazing, so I bought 8 succulents for more than 20 yuan (at the time I thought it was so expensive, for such tiny little things)

Later, after receiving the goods, I was completely dumbfounded... Weren't the succulents on the detail page all colorful? Why did I receive a plate of vegetables??? Then I decisively gave the seller a bad review. They actually deceived me~ What on earth did they send me...

Snow Lotus (Echeveria laui)

The seller explained: "Dear, succulents look different in every season. Their condition depends on how you care for them yourself."

I was very angry at the time. What kind of person is that? They didn't tell me when I bought it.

Hmph~ I won't listen, I won't listen, liar...

Fairy Cup (Dudleya), with a bit of red edge in autumn

Later, I read posts online~ and gradually learned what leggy growth, cresting, variegation, and rot are... Only then did I realize I had wrongly blamed the seller.

From a few pots to more than a hundred pots, from small black square pots to ceramic pots, from a plate of green vegetables to beautiful condition. Step by step I came, step by step I grew... and I deeply fell in love with this "magical" plant, the succulent

I want to give you ninety-nine roses, I want to sing the words in my heart for you to hear, I love you, I am willing, you don't need to be afraid~ Whoa... stop quickly~ stop quickly~ I want to get off, this is not the road to kindergarten.

At an age for playing, friends my age are all playing games and eating chicken, watching TV, playing on their phones, and going out to have fun, while I am at home digging soil and planting succulents... my face covered in dust, tanned pitch black

Time flies when I am with succulents~ staring blankly at succulents, picking off dead leaves, removing pests, pulling up shade nets, and just like that a whole day passes...

Purple Velvet (Aeonium), this one was a free gift. I originally was not into Aeoniums, but later I discovered that they are very beautiful when dormant in summer. It's just... a little bit smelly

From knowing nothing to knowing a little, stumbling all the way, going round and round.

Effort always brings rewards~ Below are the "achievements" of these past few years

Clustered Afterglow (Echeveria 'Afterglow')

This... this... this is Raindrop (Echeveria 'Raindrops'), so leggy that even its own father would barely recognize it...

The darling of my heart, Baby Fingers (Sedum 'Baby Fingers'), my old man's maiden heart ah

Fingers and Green Beans

Pinwheel (Echeveria 'Pinwheel'), water control will make it a bit more compact

Orange Snowball, also called Red Pink Confidante

Peach Beauty (Pachyphytum 'Peach Beauty'), which I feel could pass itself off as Cheese

Fine grape wine in luminous cups of jade, as we drink, the pipa urges us on horseback

Woof woof woof~ Who is barking hehehe

Ice Plum (Echeveria 'Ice Plum')

Bear Big~ you, why are you holding an axe? Going to chop trees???

Flame Cup, one stem previously had black rot, and only after immediately beheading it was it saved

White Echeveria, last summer I forgot to put up the shade net, and when I came back I found it had been sunburned into a "weakling". I originally thought it would not survive, but unexpectedly it was quite resilient

Nana's Little Hook (Graptoveria 'Nana')

Pansy~ This thing is the same, it has never developed good condition. I heard that when raised to good condition it is very beautiful

Summer Dream clustered

Blue Elf, Blue Apple~ indeed very green, matching the name very well

Lawrence (Echeveria 'Lawrence')

Fuwa

Rosima (Echeveria 'Rosima')

Beauty's Sweet Words

Juliet and Peach Egg

The evening wind blows up the hair at your temples, smoothing over the scars left by memories, in your eyes light and dark mingle, a smile brings forth flowers

Two Hibiscus Snow Lotus (Echeveria 'Frozen Beauty') in different conditions

Blue Bean (Graptopetalum 'Blue Bean')

Everyone might ask why a boy likes such fancy pots. This is how I think about it: because in summer succulents are almost all green, the flower pots can balance things out, so they won't look too ugly this way~ hehehe

April photo trick

July photo trick

Comparing April and July, they have actually grown quite a lot~

Everyone can leave a comment in the comment section and share what changes succulents have brought to your life, or what changes have happened to you after growing succulents~

Thank you for reading

I am Hohoda~ See you next time
