An old flower farmer has a secret for growing pothos: dig a hole and toss a little of this in, and the leaves will be glossy green with vigorous growth.

Pothos is a very common foliage plant, with emerald green leaves that stay evergreen all year round, long trailing vines, and it can also purify the air by absorbing harmful gases such as formaldehyde and benzene.
Many gardening enthusiasts love it, not only for its high ornamental value, but also because it is relatively easy to grow. With just a little effort, you can make it fill the whole pot. I know an old flower farmer who grows plants, and every year he regularly digs a few holes in the flower pot and tosses this thing in. For the whole year he does not fertilize again, and it still grows like crazy, with lush green leaves!
What exactly does the old flower farmer toss in that makes it so easy to grow? It is actually decomposed okara (soybean dregs), because okara is rich in nutrients and contains the elements pothos needs for growth, and its fertilizing effect lasts a very long time, lasting for months. So every year you only need to regularly bury a little decomposed okara, and there is no need to fertilize again.
The specific method: collect some okara, you can buy some directly from the tofu seller. After bringing it back, put it directly into a plastic bottle, add a small amount of water, then add some chopped fruit peels to speed up fermentation. Seal it and put it under the sun to bake.
During the fermentation of okara, gas will be produced, so you need to vent it every 3-5 days. In summer it takes about half a month to finish fermenting, and at other times it takes about a month.
Filter out the okara water, which can be diluted 10 times to feed flowers and works very well too. Then spread the okara out under the sun to bake until it is completely dry. While baking, you can break up the clumps of okara so it is easier to use.
For pothos with a smaller plant and pot, you can dig a hole near the edge of the pot on the side where the soil is looser, and put in some okara, but the amount should not be too much; for pothos with a larger plant and pot, or planted in the ground, dig several holes around it, or dig a shallow trench a little away from the base, sprinkle a thin layer of okara. During the growing season, you can bury it once about every 2 months, and it will make pothos grow like crazy with lush branches and leaves.
That is all for pothos care. If you have other tips to add, feel free to share them with everyone in the comments section below. If you want to learn more about flower growing, you can follow Huajianke!
