In summer the Aeoniums are in average condition. Last night there was thunder, rain and hail, and the heavy rain fell for half the night. On the weekend I moved the Aeoniums under the ventilated north window to take a look. In the sunlight their colors are very delicate, so I took photos with my phone to keep as a record.

Adromischus 'Marian' (Mali'an shuipao); only with sufficient sunlight do the leaf spots turn red. It has dropped two leaves, so I put it in a cool, shaded place to wait for it to sprout. Also waiting for autumn, to see it in a more beautiful state.

Adromischus 'Sika Deer' (Meihualu shuipao). Fellow succulent growers in the group said it likes water, no wonder my 'Sika Deer' is always shriveled.

In spring it was still red, now the color has faded and turned purple.

Lysimachia nummularia (moneywort), when it flowered I cut off the flower buds and trimmed some leaves, changed the water, added slow-release fertilizer, topped up the water every day, and it has become beautiful again.

This is the Hydrocotyle vulgaris (coin grass) when it was flowering, grown in a mix of water and soil, the leaves growing bigger and bigger, with good results.

At the time I even posted it on WeChat Moments, full of a sense of accomplishment.

The green bear paw (Cotyledon tomentosa) I newly bought in January, with thin, long leaves.

After half a year it has changed a lot. Some people say it does not even paint its nails. I think it takes after its owner, me, only focusing on getting fat and never remembering to beautify itself. Still, the most beautiful state of a bear paw, besides fat paws, also requires red nails. Let us make a pinky promise, we will dye them in autumn.

The Graptoveria 'Opalina' (Aopu) was transparent when it arrived by mail-order in winter. In midsummer it can still show me its pink.

When I got the Graptopetalum 'Purple Heart' (Zixin) in April, I already liked this little cluster.

Summer rainstorms come the moment they please, and the flowers and plants in the courtyard are even more charming after being washed by the rain.

Now most of my succulents are still grown outdoors under the eaves of the north window. Although the temperature in Beijing has been close to forty this week, it feels to me that summer and my succulents get along very harmoniously. Sunlight is the most beautiful filter; taking photos in the summer sunlight, the succulents look considerably better in appearance, and the flowers and plants after the rain are fresh and lovely.
