On the farmers' side

In terms of the current income composition of farmers, although the proportion of farming income is still relatively large, for many farming households, the current family economic income has basically become wage income from working, rather than relying entirely on agricultural planting income. Since the reform and opening up, the income composition of rural farmers has become increasingly diverse, and the proportion of agricultural planting income in household income has also become lower and lower.

At present, for many farming households, what they consider after finishing the wheat harvest is how to get back to work as soon as possible and hurry back to their jobs. I am afraid that idling away time at home fussing over grain is not a very good choice. Under the current smallholder economy, with each household cultivating just a few mu of land, even if the wheat price fluctuates by one or two mao, the impact on income is at most a few hundred yuan, and moreover the current fluctuation range of wheat is only a few fen. Worrying about this aspect also seems somewhat not worth it.

On the wheat price side

This year, due to a reduction in wheat output, the price is still quite good. At present, the price of high-quality wheat in most regions can basically stand above 1.2 yuan per jin. It should be said that this price is still quite attractive. By comparison, it is more than 0.05 yuan higher than the state's minimum purchase price for the wheat market. Although I hold an optimistic attitude toward the later price of wheat, the room for further increases in the later market is really already quite limited.

In March this year, China already lifted the ban on imports of Russian wheat and signed a wheat import agreement with Russia. This also means that a large amount of high-quality, low-priced quality wheat will enter China in large quantities and compete with China's wheat! In addition, in terms of temporary storage, there are also more than 70 million tons of wheat grain reserves, which gives the wheat market ample capacity for regulation.

In summary, when the future increase in wheat prices is very limited and the difficulty of storage is gradually increasing, it is actually a fairly good choice for farmer friends to consider selling their grain. Moreover, nowadays, if farmer friends work for wages, they can also earn over a hundred a day. If they hesitate at home waiting for the market to improve, I am afraid it would really be more loss than gain.
