Pennywort care tips: one trick to prevent yellow leaves and make green leaves cover the pot

Pennywort (Hydrocotyle vulgaris) stays green all year round, with round, glossy leaves and a full, rounded shape; it is very beautiful and works wonderfully as a decorative accent in bedrooms, balconies and living rooms.
Take a look at pennywort grown by experts: with just one small method, there are no yellow leaves, and the green leaves are as big as fists, densely packed all over the pot.
Usually, the methods we use to grow pennywort are soil culture and water culture. With soil culture, if you do not water in time, the pennywort leaves easily wilt and turn yellow, and the plant may die. With water culture, nutrients are rather scarce, and fertilizing is not very easy either.
So you can use a half-soil, half-water method, which suits pennywort's growth better. How exactly do you do it? Many flower growers report that although half-water, half-soil grows it well, it looks dirty; that may be because the method was wrong. First mix the prepared nutrient soil and water evenly, scoop out the large particles and impurities, plant the pennywort in evenly, and leave it for a few days. When the soil surface is slightly dry, add some small stones and then add water; the water will be especially clear and very beautiful.
Moreover, caring for pennywort this way means it will not turn yellow and wilt from lack of water, and you do not need to worry about a lack of nutrients either. The pennywort will grow more and more lush, with green, large leaves, densely filling the pot, extremely beautiful.
So what other issues should you pay attention to in the daily care of pennywort?
Even though it is half water culture and half soil culture, you must ensure there is plenty of water in the pot and never let it run short, and at the same time place it in a spot with plenty of sunlight.
In summer the weather is hot and the sunlight is strong, so be sure to provide shade, otherwise the leaves are easily scorched, wilt and turn yellow. Also, water evaporates fairly quickly, and if you do not add it in time, it will affect its normal growth as well.
That is all for today's sharing on pennywort care methods. Have you learned them?
