Things to watch out for when keeping flowers at home: these kinds of water must not be used for watering, or you will lose every pot you grow

Recently, a gardening friend @Xiaowanzi came to complain that the elderly lady in her family always uses laundry water to water the flowers, calling it saving water, and even saying that laundry water contains phosphate fertilizer that can make the flowers grow strong. But as she kept watering, something went wrong, one pot after another, they all died! Here is what happened: Xiaowanzi's mother only moved in during the summer, and because the elderly are used to being thrifty, she always used laundry water to water the flowers.
After watering like this for three or four days in a row, Xiaowanzi finally noticed...
She hurried to check on the flowers. The succulents had almost all died, and the leaves still had laundry detergent water stains on them.
The Cuban oregano (Plectranthus amboinicus) looked completely lifeless. She had thought they died from the summer heat, but it turned out they had been "washed" to death by laundry detergent.
Say no more, it is all tears. She hurried to dig out the ones that could still be saved, wash their roots, and replant them~
She spent a whole day tidying up and settling all the flowers, and still did not know whether they could make it through this crisis... The gardening friend said she did not know how to talk to her mother, because her mother said she had always used laundry detergent water to water flowers and it had never had any effect! It seems there are still many misunderstandings about watering. Today, Huahua will give you a science lesson!
3 kinds of water must not be used for watering, otherwise all the flowers will die!
1. Laundry detergent water is highly alkaline, flowers cannot drink it!
Laundry detergent is alkaline. When you touch it with your hand, it even feels hot. Watering flowers with it is very irritating, and the more you water, the more alkaline the soil becomes. Most of our flowers prefer acidic soil, and it is very hard to grow flowers well in alkaline soil. Some people use laundry detergent water to kill pests, but they also spray it on the leaves and must rinse it off quickly afterward!
2. If rice-washing water is not fermented, the flowers will be burned!
Rice-washing water is also commonly used for watering flowers. Huahua always says it must be fermented and diluted with water before use, because if raw rice-washing water is poured into the pot, it will continue to ferment. Not only does it smell bad and easily breed pests, it can also burn the flowers. So it is best to put the rice-washing water in a bottle, place it on the windowsill to ferment for 1-2 weeks, open the lid occasionally, and when there is no bad smell, it is fermented!
3. Milk water is too sticky, flowers find it hard to absorb!
Whether expired or not expired, milk is very sticky for flowers. Watering with it not only makes it hard for them to absorb, but also affects the flowers' normal breathing. It is best to put milk in a transparent bottle and ferment it for about ten days. Adding some fruit peels and the like is even better, as it will produce nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizer. Only then, diluted with water, can it be absorbed by the flowers!
4 kinds of water for watering flowers: whatever you water will flourish, even saving you fertilizer
1. Watering flowers with overnight tea improves resistance
Note that it must be overnight tea, or tea that has been left for 1-2 days, which is equivalent to already being fermented, and watering flowers with it will not burn the roots. Watering about once every 2 weeks is enough. It can resist pests and diseases and improve the flowers' resistance and antioxidant capacity.
2. Air conditioner water is soft water, non-irritating for watering flowers
The condensed water dripping from an air conditioner is distilled water and belongs to soft water. It is even better than our tap water, and when used to water flowers there is no worry about the soil becoming alkaline or compacted. Let it sit for half a day first, and after it settles, it can be used directly to water flowers~
3. Water from a fish tank is even better than fertilizer for watering flowers!
Gardening friends who keep fish at home must save the dirty water. After letting it settle for a few hours, use it to water flowers. It contains fish droppings, which are a rare organic fertilizer!
4. Rainwater is acidic water, flowers feel great drinking it
Why do flowers grown outdoors and relying on the sky look stronger than those we grow at home? One reason is that they drink rainwater. If your environment is okay and the smog is not serious, then when it rains, collect a few more buckets of rainwater. Watering flowers with it will definitely make them grow plump!
