A potted offset cactus is especially charming when in bloom, and it is a cactus that will not prick people.

Today I will introduce a very charming cactus plant. When it blooms, the flowers are usually orange-red or pink, so people call it red treasure mountain, and some also call it offset cactus. It is a relatively easy-to-care-for potted cactus, and it easily grows side shoots. Care is simple. Let's take a look.
The offset cactus is covered all over with soft spines. Of course, some have no fine, soft spines. The overall ball shape is also fairly uniform, with good ornamental value, and it is quite appealing even when not in bloom.
Its flowers are very large rosette-shaped flowers. Besides red, the flower colors also include pink or yellow. Very few varieties have white flowers. It usually blooms in spring.
The offset cactus is very suitable for lazy growers, as it does not need much management. You only need to wait until the potting soil is completely dry before watering. Keep it in a warm, slightly dry environment with good ventilation, plus suitable light, and it will maintain good growth.
For the soil, you can choose loose sandy soil. Ordinary special cactus soil can all be used for planting. Mix in 2 to 3 equal parts river sand or perlite. The other media can be a mix of peat soil and compost soil, with appropriate additions of cinder and bone meal.
To care for the offset cactus, keep the environment well ventilated and avoid stuffy or humid conditions, otherwise it is prone to pests, diseases, or fungal infection. It is suitable for a windowsill or balcony with plenty of sunlight.
During the growing period, keep the potting soil slightly dry. In summer, take care to provide appropriate shade and avoid direct sun exposure in the afternoon. You can also pull up a shade net. In winter, it can be moved indoors to a windowsill. When the temperature is too low, reduce watering or even stop watering.
For daily watering, note that the amount must not be too much, and the potting soil must not become waterlogged. When watering, avoid spraying water, and do not water from the top of the stem, as it easily accumulates water and rots the core.
The offset cactus is a cactus that is not very cold-tolerant. Keep the minimum care temperature above 5°C. After spring warms up, do not rush to move it outdoors, to avoid frost damage.
