How to make pothos grow into a full, overflowing pot? Personally, I think the simplest method is to go to a flower market and buy a pot that is already overflowing, since it is not expensive anyway, just ten or twenty yuan and you can buy a pot.

Of course, this is a joke, a little relaxation on a summer afternoon.

First, we need to understand the environment suitable for pothos growth. Pothos prefers a cool, shady environment. Give it a little sunlight and it will actually thrive quite well, but it cannot be exposed to direct sunlight. It also prefers a moist environment. Its vitality is strong, and even if you break off a branch and put it in water, it can still grow very vigorously.

Next is watering. Pothos likes a moist environment. In spring, summer and autumn, the potting soil should be kept moist. If the potting soil is too dry, the leaves tend to turn yellow. But if there is too much water in the pot and water accumulates, it will cause root rot. Generally, watering once every two or three days is enough. In summer, you can appropriately increase the watering frequency. In winter, you can appropriately reduce the watering frequency, and you can also use a spray bottle to mist the leaves.

For fertilizing pothos, generally nitrogen fertilizer is the main type, with potassium fertilizer as a supplement. Before the growing season arrives, that is, in spring, apply a 0.3% solution of ammonium sulfate or urea once every 10 days or so, and use a 0.5‰-1‰ urea solution for one foliar feeding, so that it can both meet the growth needs of pothos and keep the leaves green and shiny. In winter, fertilizing should be stopped or only a small amount of foliar spray fertilizer should be applied.

In addition, let me tell you a few problems that commonly occur with pothos.

(1) Leaves turn yellow and fall off, and the stems rot: This is mainly caused by watering too much. Pothos requires soil with good air permeability, and especially dislikes water accumulation in the pot. If this situation occurs, repot with fresh soil as early as possible.

(2) Leaf tips curl and dry leaves appear: This is mainly caused by the air in the growing environment being too dry. You can use a humidifier, or a spray bottle, to increase the air humidity.

(3) Leaves become soft and bent, and the stems rot: This problem generally appears in winter, and it is caused by too low a temperature.
