Recently, some flower friends left comments saying that their own rose cuttings looked like they were sprouting new shoots, but a few days later the stems turned black and died. What is going on? Exactly how should roses be propagated by cuttings so the survival rate is high? Bai Xiaomei'er has also tried many kinds of rose cutting methods, and after comparing them one by one, I will share my cutting method with everyone.

Rose cutting tips:

1. Be sure to choose healthy branches after flowering. This point is very important. Many friends use branches cut off during pruning for cuttings, using all of them without selection, and they will not necessarily survive.

2. Rooting water must be used. You can use rooting powder you bought yourself. If you do not have any, you can use willow branch soaking liquid, sugar water, or vinegar without salt mixed with clean water at a 1:100 ratio to soak the branches. If you bought rooting powder, mix it with water and soak the branches for 2 hours and it will be fine. For the others, soak for 4-6 hours before making the cuttings.

3. For lazy people, the cutting method should not be complicated. The previously popular one was the wall-hitting 2.0 method, but in this season, I recommend everyone directly use the water propagation method to root roses. It is more convenient, and rooting is very easy.

Rose water propagation method: Take a rose branch about 10 cm long, with at least 2-3 buds on the branch. If there are leaves at the top, it is best to keep 2. Prepare a foam board with thin buds, poke holes in advance, pass the rose branch through, then place the foam board into a container filled with water. Note that you must ensure one bud can touch the water. Put the inserted branch in an outdoor place with bright, indirect light and good ventilation. If you have rooting powder, you can add a little rooting powder to the water, and the roots produced will be more numerous and fuller. According to the current weather, roots generally grow in 2 weeks.

When the root system has grown relatively strong and full, it can be temporarily planted. The roots from water propagation are a bit more fragile, so when temporarily planting, it is better to use loose, breathable nutrient soil for planting.

That is all for today's sharing. If everyone finds it useful, share it with more friends to see. You are also welcome to leave comments and share your rose cutting tips, so more flower friends can grow flowers well!
