Why jasmine should not be kept in the bedroom

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
Jasmine is not very suitable for the bedroom, though it is fine if there are only a few plants. Its fragrance is very strong and can affect people's normal rest, and may even cause symptoms of nausea; some people are also allergic to its pollen. In addition, the soil will attract some small insects, and at night it will also compete with people for a portion of the oxygen.

1. Reasons it cannot be placed there

(1) Fragrance: Jasmine gives off a scent. Although this scent is not toxic, if there are many plants, the fragrance will be very strong. In a very large space with good ventilation, there is no problem. But a bedroom is relatively small, so it will affect people. In mild cases it affects sleep quality; in severe cases it can lower the oxygen content in the blood, which then leads to dizziness, headache, nausea and other symptoms.

(2) Pollen: When the plant is in bloom it produces pollen, and quite a few people are allergic to jasmine pollen. Some people react very severely, developing allergic asthma and so on. Even if you are not allergic, the pollen is not good for people's respiratory tract, especially when there are many plants.

(3) In addition, the soil of the plant will produce bacteria, which in turn attracts some small insects. Some small insects are toxic, so keeping it in the bedroom is not very suitable.

(4) At night the plant will compete with people for a portion of the oxygen, which may affect people's normal rest.

2. Points to note

Although jasmine is not very suitable for the bedroom, if you want to keep it there you can put one pot, and it is best not to have too many. In addition, before placing it you need to confirm that you are not allergic to its pollen. Then there is the issue of ventilation: when it is flowering, ventilation must be good.
