How to grow spider plants so they become more lush? These care tips are essential to master
1. Repot regularly
The root system of the spider plant is very well developed, and it generally needs to be repotted once a year. This is because the nutrients in the old soil have already been used up, and if it is not repotted in time, it will be bad for the plant's growth. When repotting, choose loose soil, not too sticky and heavy, and you can apply enough base fertilizer at the bottom of the pot when repotting.
2. Control watering
The spider plant has a certain ability to resist drought. Do not water too much at ordinary times, and you can water once every half month according to the situation. If you water too much, its root system will easily rot. In winter, watering must be controlled even more, since water evaporates relatively slowly, and if you water too much it may also freeze and injure it.
3. Reasonable light
The spider plant is a semi-shade plant. During ordinary care, do not expose it to strong sunlight. When the light is intense, you need to move its position or provide appropriate shade. If the light is too strong, it will scorch it, and the leaves will turn yellow. However, in winter you can let it receive light, but it is best to place it indoors, as the low outdoor temperature may freeze and injure it.
4. Proper pruning
If you want the spider plant to grow more lush, timely pruning is important. During its growth, once you find dead branches, diseased branches and leaves, dead leaves, and so on, you need to promptly trim them off with scissors. After pruning, you can fertilize more, which can let it grow more robustly.
