If you have watered your cyclamen too much, first stop watering and keep it unwatered for two to three days. Loosen the soil appropriately and place it in a well-ventilated spot to speed up water evaporation. Then make sure there is plenty of light. When you water again afterward, use a scientific method. The overall principle is "water when dry, let it dry between waterings."

1. Treatment methods

(1) When you find you have watered too much, the first thing to do is stop watering, for about two to three days, so the water in the pot dissipates as quickly as possible.

(2) You can use a shovel or similar tool to loosen the soil. Once the soil is loose and aerated, the water may evaporate faster, which helps the plant recover.

(3) Besides loosening the soil, you can also place the plant in a spot with good ventilation. Fast-moving air also helps water dissipate, and this is another way to speed things up.

(4) Besides letting the water in the soil dissipate, you also need to provide plenty of light. This is because the plant must not stop growing at this point, and light allows it to keep accumulating nutrients for growth after it recovers.

2. Watering precautions

After the water has evaporated, see whether the plant has returned to normal. If it has recovered, you can go back to normal care. You can water normally, but you need to use the right method. The main things to note are:

(1) Overall principle: "water when dry, let it dry between waterings." Judge whether to water by observing the state of the soil. If the soil is dry, water it; if the soil is not dry, do not water. And when you do water, water thoroughly.

(2) The watering frequency differs by season. In spring and autumn the frequency is higher, about once every one to two days. Water less in summer and winter; in summer because of dormancy, and in winter because of low temperatures.
