What Are the Natural Enemies of Geckos? A Rundown of the Common Predators of Geckos

Geckos are animals of the class Reptilia, order Squamata, suborder Lacertilia. They are found in warm regions, jungles and deserts, and their traces can be found in households throughout tropical and subtropical countries and regions around the world, wherever there are awnings and small crevices. Their main natural enemies are scorpions, frogs, snakes and centipedes. Let's take a look at these natural enemies of geckos below!
Scorpions
Scorpions are animals of the class Arachnida, order Scorpiones. The earliest scorpions on land appeared about 430 million years ago in the Silurian period. They are entirely carnivorous and mostly live on slopes of flaky rock mixed with soil, in places that are neither dry nor wet and have sparse vegetation. They mainly prey on invertebrates, such as spiders, crickets, small centipedes, the larvae and nymphs of various insects, and even small geckos.
Frogs
Frogs are amphibians of the class Amphibia, order Anura, family Ranidae. Most live in rainy tropical and temperate regions, with very few species found in the frigid zone. In the wild they mainly prey on flies, mosquitoes, locusts, mole crickets, green caterpillars, earthworms and the like, and they also prey on small geckos and so on.
Snakes
Snakes are the general name for reptiles with degenerated limbs, belonging to the class Reptilia, order Squamata, suborder Serpentes. All snakes are carnivorous animals, some venomous, but most non-venomous, and they are truly terrestrial vertebrates. Their diet varies according to the species: rat snakes eat rats, some arboreal snakes like to eat lizards and birds, aquatic snakes eat fish, blunt-headed snakes like to eat molluscs, mock vipers like to eat frogs, and king cobras and banded kraits eat other snakes.
Centipedes
Centipedes, also known as tianlong, baijiaochong, Scolopendra subspinipes mutilans and so on, are terrestrial arthropods. Common centipedes come in three types: red-headed, green-headed and black-headed. They are carnivorous animals with a fairly broad diet, especially fond of preying on various insects such as green caterpillars, spiders, cockroaches and the like, and they also prey on geckos, small snakes and so on.
