Hydroponic Umbrella Papyrus: Growing Methods and Precautions
1. Water quality
If growing hydroponically, water quality has a very big impact on the plant's growth. Choose slightly acidic water. There are many types to choose from, such as river water, well water, lake water, and so on. If using tap water, it must be left to stand for twenty-four hours before use. Among all the types, electrolyzed ionized water is the best. Do not use mineral water. In addition, for a better look, you can also use glass balls, colored stones, and so on as decoration.
2. Changing the water
Changing the water regularly is very important. However, the frequency is certainly different in different seasons. Summer is when the water needs to be changed most often. Next come spring and autumn, and finally winter, when the interval can be longer.
3. Spraying water
In some relatively dry seasons, you also need to spray some water on the leaves to supplement humidity, such as in autumn. In addition, the wind in autumn is relatively strong, so be careful not to let the plant be blown over.
4. Nutrients
Hydroponically grown plants also need some nutrients supplemented. However, ordinary fertilizer cannot be applied directly; you can use some nutrient solution, or you can dissolve some fertilizer tablets in water.
5. Dealing with rotted roots
Hydroponically grown plants are prone to root rot. If the roots rot, it must be dealt with promptly. Cut off the rotted parts, and it is best to start from the bamboo nodes. If the rotted area is too large, after cutting, use some rooting liquid.
