Pothos, as a potted plant, I believe most flower lovers are growing it. With its leaves green and glossy all year round, it not only makes the indoor space feel full of vitality and energy, but also purifies harmful gases indoors. Moreover, pothos has strong adaptability and is very easy to keep alive.

Speaking of pothos being easy to keep alive, I have to mention that although pothos is easy to grow, that does not mean everyone can grow it into a full pot. Take pothos cutting propagation, for example. Some people take pothos cuttings and they root in two or three days, and in half a month they fill a pot. But some flower lovers may lack experience. Next, we will share how to take pothos cuttings and grow 100 pots in half a month.

For taking pothos cuttings, soil is very important.

Most flower lovers use the general-purpose flower soil sold on the market. How many nutrients this kind of soil has, no one is really sure. Therefore, it is best to mix some nutrient soil yourself. The growing environment for pothos requires loose, fertile soil rich in a large amount of humus. When we mix soil, of course we should follow this standard.

First prepare the following materials: leaf mold, pine needles, gravel, ordinary garden soil and some crushed eggshells. Then mix and stir the above materials evenly in a certain ratio. The mixing ratio is 1:1:0.3:2:0.2. The purpose of adding leaf mold and pine needles is to make the potting soil more fertile and give it a heat-preserving and moisture-retaining effect. This helps pothos stems root and heal.

Adding crushed eggshells increases the calcium and phosphorus elements in the soil. The addition of these trace elements can prevent pothos leaves from turning yellow and avoid affecting the ornamental value because of yellow leaves.

For cuttings, first grow roots, and when growing roots, you should look at whether the potting soil is good or bad.

According to the materials and ratio mentioned above, the nutrient soil mixed in this way can be called a "universal soil" for cuttings. It can not only be used to take pothos cuttings and easily grow 100 pots in half a month, but can also be used to take cuttings of flowers such as kalanchoe and potted roses. Of course, no matter which plant you take cuttings of, remember the care in the early stage of cutting, ensure water and light, and speed up rooting and survival.

There are many ways to take pothos cuttings. You can use the method in the picture above and directly lay the stems horizontally in the soil to let them root, or you can use stems with leaves for cuttings. The two methods do not differ much in care. It is just that when taking pothos cuttings in the way shown in the picture above, growth will be a little slower. If you use this method, you can dip both ends of the pothos in some rooting agent before taking cuttings. This can increase the survival rate.
