The people who criticize you are actually your benefactors

When we are young, we are proud and arrogant. When faced with criticism from others, we often take it as provocation, nitpicking, or making a fuss over nothing, and rarely quietly examine our own mistakes.
Think back: who criticized you the most from childhood to adulthood? It is our parents. Which parent does not hope their child will grow up to be successful?
Who criticized you the most at school? It is our teachers. Which teacher does not hope their students will make something of themselves in the future?
Likewise, the people who criticize you today also mean well for you, and think you are still a person of talent!
Everyone loves to hear words of affirmation and praise, which is why the ancient saying goes, "Honest advice grates on the ear, but it is good for one's conduct."
Only those who are responsible toward you will criticize you; only those who think you are "worth teaching" will criticize you; only those who truly care about you will criticize you; only those who are willing to take on the trouble and effort to teach you, guide you, and help you improve will criticize you...
Good medicine tastes bitter. These days, it is not easy to truly hear someone speak their mind to you, or to have someone genuinely criticize you for your growth and improvement!
So once someone criticizes you, you must cherish it.
In the face of criticism, we should actually be happy, but why do some people become defensive the moment they encounter criticism?
It comes down to no more than the following two points:
First, they feel they have done everything completely right.
In fact, there is no such thing as a perfect person. Even if you have done a small thing relatively well, it can never be the most perfect.
You must understand that there is no best, only better; moreover, good ideas are often hidden within opposing opinions.
Therefore, in the face of criticism, you should hold an inclusive attitude. Even if you have already done very well, you should still listen to opinions from multiple sides; "listen to all sides, and you will be enlightened."
Second, they are afraid of losing face.
Some people think that being criticized is humiliating and hurts their self-esteem. In fact, whether or not you accept criticism from others has not the slightest bit to do with your self-esteem.
If you really want to be strong-willed and really want self-esteem, then accept voices from multiple sides. This not only lets you understand and analyze things from other angles, but also broadens your knowledge and strengthens your judgment!
If you do not correct small mistakes, it is letting small matters brew into big mistakes that is truly humiliating. The people who criticize you are all people who pay attention to you. If the moment you hear someone say something bad, you rush to defend yourself, then you will never accomplish anything.
When you hear criticism, you can do two things:
First, do your best to do well what you ought to doand prove that you are right. Then no matter what others say, it no longer matters. If the matter truly was not handled well, then even if you spend 10 times the time and effort defending yourself, it is useless.
Second, talk with the person who criticized you and listen to their opinionsPerhaps you will then know where you went wrong. There is no need to feel discouraged when criticized. The key is to face it squarely. This is a sign of believing in yourself and also trusting others.
Being criticized is actually a sign of being cared for. It shows that you still have good relationships and that when something goes wrong, so many people care about you. At this point, you can say one thing to the person who criticized you: "Thank you."
People who can bluntly point out your shortcomings are your greatest benefactors. People who flatter you all day long and constantly praise you to the skies are often the ones who are truly watching you make a fool of yourself.
Criticism and opinions are a kind of "honest advice that grates on the ear." To truly "set aside face" and criticize a person or a matter is actually not an easy thing to do. Such people are the good teachers and helpful friends in our lives.
Criticism is sincere care
Criticism is valuable support
Criticism is a lofty reward
Criticism is a precious gift
Thank you to everyone who has ever criticized me or will criticize me in the future.
