How do you care for jasmine? Master these care tips to grow it well
1. Suitable soil
To grow jasmine well, choose suitable soil. It prefers loose, fertile soil with strong air permeability and drainage; poor air permeability easily leads to root rot. In addition, repot and change the soil once every 1-2 years of care; timely repotting and soil replacement is very beneficial to its growth.
2. Reasonable light
When caring for jasmine, give it plenty of light; if it grows in a shaded environment for a long time, it will become leggy. However, summer light is rather intense, so appropriate shading measures can be taken, or it can be placed in a cool spot for care.
3. Moderate watering
To grow jasmine well, water it moderately; in spring and autumn, watering 2-3 times a week is enough. In summer, water evaporates relatively quickly, so you can water daily, but there must be no water accumulation in the potting soil. In winter, temperatures are very low, so the watering frequency can be changed to once every 1-2 weeks. When watering, be sure to water thoroughly, without gaps, so that the roots can absorb the water.
4. Proper pruning
Proper pruning during the jasmine's growth period is also very necessary; promptly prune away diseased branches, weak branches, and dead or yellowing leaves. In addition, branches that are too densely grown should also be thinned out, and after flowering, promptly remove the spent and faded flowers to avoid consuming unnecessary nutrients.
