How to propagate pothos? A detailed guide to practical methods and tips
1. Cut a vine
To propagate pothos, the most important thing is to select a good vine. If the vine is chosen poorly, then no matter how carefully it is cared for later, it will not be able to grow well. Specifically, you need to select a sturdy vine with good growth and no obvious pests or diseases from a healthy, disease-free plant, and cut it off with sterilized scissors.
After that, you need to remove the leaves on the vine, keeping only two or three leaves. This can reduce nutrient consumption and water evaporation, and improve the plant's survival rate.
2. Prepare the substrate
After preparing the vine, you also need to prepare the substrate needed for propagating it. If you are preparing soil, you need to prepare sterilized potting soil for it; if you are growing it in water, you need to prepare tap water that has been left to stand and exposed to sunlight for it.
3. Carry out the propagation
Insert the prepared vine into the prepared soil or water, and be careful not to insert it too deep. After that, you only need to maintain a certain level of air humidity and soil moisture, and wait for it to take root.
