Jasmine is a houseplant loved by many flower growers, with a blooming period from May to November that is especially long. With proper care it can bloom for 3 consecutive cycles, and when the flowers open they are especially fragrant, long praised as "a single plant that can scent a whole room."

Summer is the season when jasmine blooms in profusion, but recently some flower growers have reported that although their jasmine has bloomed, and with quite a lot of flowers, it is just not very fragrant. Today Hua'er will tell you: when the jasmine is in full bloom, water it with this kind of "fragrance booster" and the floral scent becomes even richer!

The fragrance of jasmine is largely related to phosphorus and some trace elements. When the flowers are blooming, properly supplementing some phosphorus and other trace elements can make the scent richer. However, applying phosphorus fertilizer directly can easily affect the plant and shorten the blooming period, so fermented organic fertilizer should be used instead. "Fermented shrimp shell water" is the best "fragrance booster"; it is rich in phosphorus and some trace elements and can make jasmine become even more fragrant.

Specific method:Collect some shrimp shells; crayfish, prawns and so on are all fine. After washing them clean, rinse them 2-3 times with boiling water to bring them back to their original flavor, then put them in a pressure cooker and cook for about 1 hour. Separate the shrimp shells from the broth. The shrimp shells can be mashed and sun-dried to use as a base fertilizer, while the shrimp shell broth, after cooling, is poured into a plastic bottle. You can also add some fruit peels to speed up fermentation. After sealing, put it under the sun to bake.

During fermentation, when the plastic bottle swells with gas, release the gas. Fermentation is faster in summer, and it is about half a month before fermentation is complete.

Before use, filter it first to remove the rotten fruit peels and so on, then dilute it 10 times and pour it directly into the jasmine flowerpot, a small bowl every 4 days. This will let it bloom all over the branches with a rich floral scent!

Note: summer temperatures are high, so it is best to water once in the morning first, then water in the evening when the temperature is lower, and the next day continue to water thoroughly to leach the water, which is more conducive to jasmine's absorption.

That is all for jasmine care. If flower growers have other additions, you can share them with everyone in the comment section below. To learn more about flower growing, you can follow Hua Jian Ke!
