"New Taipei Social Enterprise‧E-commerce Base" Officially Opens, Joining Forces with E-commerce to Compete in the Market

To lead social enterprises in expanding e-commerce channels and creating new business opportunities together, the New Taipei City Government became the first local government nationwide to focus on social enterprises and e-commerce as its theme, using the 4th-floor space of the Sanchong Central Public Retail Market to create the "New Taipei Social Enterprise．E-commerce Base," which officially opened on the 16th. The base will provide 6 major services: free space and venues, e-commerce tool applications, high-quality livestreaming equipment, professional course training, mentor accompaniment and coaching, and links to industry resources, catalyzing social enterprises toward the new retail era. The first phase has already recruited 27 teams for physical and virtual residency, including not only social enterprises but also e-commerce startups, allowing teams to exchange ideas, stimulate one another, leverage each other's strengths, grow together, and accelerate each other's momentum for development.

New Taipei Mayor Eric Chu stated that social enterprises are innovative enterprise organizations that solve social problems and change the world through commercial operating models. However, most are locally based and often face problems such as small operating scale, insufficient brand strength, lack of market competitiveness, and limited sales channels. To help social enterprises expand into diverse markets, after leading the nation in promoting the "Social Enterprise Dream Realization 5-Step Plan" in the 104th year of the Republic of China, the city government has specially focused on the application of "e-commerce channels" as its main axis and built the "New Taipei Social Enterprise．E-commerce Base" to lead social enterprises in connecting with e-commerce and creating more business opportunities.

The Economic Development Department stated that the 4th floor of the Sanchong Central Market was originally planned to be outsourced for operation. To solve the development difficulties of social enterprises and accelerate social enterprise teams' market expansion, it was specially re-planned to establish the "New Taipei Social Enterprise．E-commerce Base" as a cultivation base for social enterprises and e-commerce. At the same time, it is also interconnected with the nearby "New Taipei Innovation Power Workshop." In the future, there will be not only spatial interconnection, but related resources will also be integrated to expand the benefits and jointly build this into a New Taipei youth entrepreneurship cluster.
