Reasons and Solutions for the Happiness Tree Dropping Leaves at the Slightest Touch

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
There are many reasons why a Happiness Tree (Radermachera sinica) drops its leaves at the slightest touch. If it is caused by improper watering, you need to water it reasonably to keep the soil moist. If it is caused by improper lighting, you need to adjust the duration and intensity of light, giving it sufficient but not intense light conditions. If it is caused by over-fertilizing, you need to flush the soil or repot it with fresh soil.

1. Water properly

Cause: Overwatering can damage the root system of the Happiness Tree, causing it to drop leaves. Underwatering can also leave its leaves short of water, causing them to drop.

Solution: Water it reasonably to keep the soil moist, neither too dry nor too wet. When watering, check the surface of the soil first; if it is dry, add water, and if it is not dry, you can hold off on watering.

2. Provide an appropriate amount of light

Cause: Too much light can scorch its leaves and cause leaf drop. Too little light makes it hard for its leaves to carry out normal physiological processes, which also causes leaf drop.

Solution: Place it in a spot with plenty of light. When the light is too strong, shade it appropriately; when the light is too weak, provide artificial supplemental lighting.

3. Flush the soil

Cause: Over-fertilizing at ordinary times can also easily cause its leaves to drop at the slightest touch. This is because the excess fertilizer in the soil cannot be absorbed by it in time and remains in the soil, harming its root system and causing it to drop leaves.

Solution: Flush the soil with plenty of water to wash out all the excess fertilizer in the soil, then place it in a cool, ventilated spot to let the soil dry. In more serious cases, consider repotting it with fresh soil.
