With the development of urbanization and the continuous deterioration of air quality, many people keep some green plants and flowers at home, such as money tree, jade plant, camellia, etc. On the one hand, they can improve the air, and they can also decorate the home and add a touch of green.

For potted plants, if you want them to grow well, repotting is essential, and people are always torn about what kind of base fertilizer to use. Unlike in rural areas, where you can just put in some decomposed manure, today Hua'er will introduce to everyone a kind of material suitable for use as base fertilizer. Use it to grow green plants and flowers, and they will grow vigorously, with lush branches and leaves and flowers all over the branches!

This material suitable for use as base fertilizer is okara. It has strong fertility and lasts especially long, and can continuously provide nutrients to plants. Even if you do not fertilize much afterward, it can still make plants grow very well, with green and glossy leaves and large, vivid flowers.

Specific method: go directly to a tofu shop and ask the owner for some okara or buy some. Prepare a suitable container, put all the okara in, then add some orange peel, banana peel, etc. Before adding them, chop them up, add a small amount of water, and stir gently until the fruit peels and okara are evenly mixed. Then seal it and place it in the sun to bake.

During the fermentation process, let it air out every 3-5 days to prevent the container from bursting. Fermentation is faster in summer, and it can be completed in about half a month to 20 days.

After fermentation is complete, filter out the water. This water can be diluted 10 times and used to water flowers once every 7 days, which can promote the growth and flowering of flowers. Spread out the remaining okara and place it in the sun to bake until it is completely dry. During the drying process, break it into coarse powder for use.

When repotting money tree, jade plant, camellia, etc., directly sprinkle a 3-5cm layer of coarse okara powder at the bottom of the flowerpot as base fertilizer, then fill with soil until planting is complete.

That is all for using it as base fertilizer. If fellow flower lovers have other additions, you can share them with everyone in the comment section below. If you want to learn more about flower growing, you can follow Huajianke!
