Asparagus fern can be grown in water, and it is best to use a young seedling with roots. For hydroponics, remove the old soil from the roots completely, rinse them clean with water, then trim off the diseased and old roots, and disinfect the wounds with carbendazim. Prepare a container, place some expanded clay pebbles or maifanite at the bottom, insert the prepared plant, and keep it in a cool place for care.

I. Is It Possible?

Asparagus fern can be grown in water, but for hydroponics you cannot use cuttings; it is best to use a young seedling with roots. During hydroponics, remove the old soil from the plant's roots completely, clean them with clear water, and use sterilized scissors to trim the diseased and old roots. If the roots are not dealt with, it will affect its growth.

II. Hydroponic Method

1. Prepare materials: Prepare a glass container, along with some expanded clay pebbles or maifanite.

2. Prepare the plant: After trimming the asparagus fern's roots, you can wash the wounds with carbendazim, which can prevent disease or rot.

3. Insert the plant: Expanded clay pebbles or maifanite need to be placed in the container, and the prepared asparagus fern is inserted into the container; the pebbles at the bottom can prevent the plant from leaning.

4. Hydroponic care: After inserting, keep it in a cool place for care, and do not let strong direct sunlight hit it. If caring for it indoors, open the windows for ventilation as appropriate. In addition, change the water in time; after it grows white roots, you can apply a nutrient solution as appropriate, but not too much.
