Haworthia 'Baiyin Shou' is a rather uncommon succulent. Because it is rarely cultivated, many friends who want to grow it cannot find a suitable planting method. The editor once grew one, but later gave it to a friend when moving house, so today I will introduce the care method for Haworthia 'Baiyin Shou'.

Haworthia 'Baiyin Shou' is a rather short succulent. It does not grow tall and looks very cute. Its leaves are round-triangular in shape, and there are even some patterns on them. Some friends say they look like tiger skin, so it does not attract many insects; even small bugs are afraid when they see it. And indeed, it must be said that Haworthia 'Baiyin Shou' really rarely gets insects. Haworthia 'Baiyin Shou' likes to grow in warm, dry places and cannot tolerate waterlogging, because then the roots cannot stand it and it will not grow normally. Normally in winter or summer, when the weather temperature is very low or very high, Haworthia 'Baiyin Shou' will go dormant, which is very common among succulents. However, caring for Haworthia 'Baiyin Shou' is relatively simple. We usually just put it on the balcony and water it regularly, which makes it very suitable for friends who are busy with work, and of course also very suitable for lazy people.

When planting Haworthia 'Baiyin Shou', we should choose loose, breathable soil, so that the roots and stems of Haworthia 'Baiyin Shou' can fully breathe and absorb nutrients. The soil is best if it is slightly acidic. Some friends say they do not know whether their soil is acidic, so what should they do? We can add some vinegar each time we water, or bury some orange peel in the surface of the potting soil, both of which are fine, as this can help make the potting soil acidic. As for the flowerpot, we should choose some ceramic pots, or purple clay ones. If you are growing it at home, do not use plastic pots; they do not look attractive either.

Fertilizer is something Haworthia 'Baiyin Shou' likes very much. Some friends ask, do succulents also need fertilizing? Must they be fertilized? Actually, not necessarily. We fertilize so that Haworthia 'Baiyin Shou' can grow better and easily fill the pot. The original soil has a certain amount of fertilizer in the early growth stage. Later, when it enters the growth period, the original nutrients are no longer enough, so we need to increase nutrients at this time. However, note that fertilizer must be diluted before it is applied, and only then can it be used. Applying fertilizer once at the beginning of the month is enough.

When planting in spring, generally watering once a week is enough. Placing it outside on the balcony to fully receive light can make the leaves more translucent and green. In summer, succulents enter dormancy. To reduce the chance of dormancy, we need to put the succulent in a cool, ventilated place, lower the temperature of the potting soil, and at the same time control watering. In autumn, we just need to let Haworthia 'Baiyin Shou' receive more light. Do not apply too much fertilizer, because if it goes dormant in winter, the nutrients will be wasted, and it may also cause root rot.

For winter care, we should let Haworthia 'Baiyin Shou' receive more sunlight and at the same time reduce watering. It can no longer be kept outdoors, because too low a temperature will freeze and damage Haworthia 'Baiyin Shou'.

The care of Haworthia 'Baiyin Shou' is not very different from most succulents, so if you can care for other succulents, caring for Haworthia 'Baiyin Shou' is very simple.
