When growing small flowers and plants, the most important thing is to pay more attention to some of their little habits during growth, so that you can effectively find good ways to care for them. If you do not find suitable little methods for them, it is very difficult to grow them well. Today let us take an example, starting with Sempervivum. The plant form of Sempervivum is relatively small, so it does not take up too much space when cared for. There are also quite a few ways to care for it, and quite a few ways to propagate it, but getting it to grow into a full pot is still a bit difficult. However, as long as you do the above six points well, it can basically be solved easily.

1. Medium

Sempervivum actually does not have very high requirements for the medium, but if you want it to grow better, nutrients in the medium are indispensable. So if you want to grow a full pot of Sempervivum, you need to do the basic base fertilizer well and loosen the soil regularly to ensure the soil does not clump.

2. Temperature

Sempervivum has one more dormant season than other flowers and plants, so it enters dormancy in both summer and winter. In order not to let them die during dormancy, while regulating the temperature well, you also need to ensure some other factors. Summer weather is relatively stuffy and hot, so ventilation in the environment is very important and can help Sempervivum cool down. Winter temperatures are relatively low, and the most effective way to keep it warm is to move it indoors to a warm place.

3. Water

Never pour too much water for Sempervivum, and do not water too frequently either. Even when you see the leaves showing signs of lacking water and no longer having supporting strength, watering then is still too late. Sempervivum is rather afraid of wet soil. If it grows in wet soil for a long time, its root system cannot stand it, and root rot is very likely to occur. At that time, you may not even be able to keep a single leaf, let alone a Sempervivum that is supposed to grow into a full pot.

4. Light

Sempervivum has a very strong ability to tolerate shade and can grow under weak light, but if you can ensure the daily amount of light, it is very helpful for the growth of stems and leaves. The leaves will become thicker and fuller, and the leaf color will naturally become more brilliant. The whole plant will look more compact. However, if you want to maintain its daily light, you also cannot place it in direct sunlight, as that will directly scorch the leaves.

5. Fertilizing

Spring and autumn are the two growing seasons for Sempervivum, so during these two seasons you must do the topdressing work well to ensure the later growth of Sempervivum. The number of fertilizations for Sempervivum should be appropriately increased according to its growth state. If the growth is still acceptable, you can pause a little. If the growth does not look very promising, you can add fertilizer twice in one month to promote the growth of its stems and leaves.

6. Repotting

Every kind of flower and green plant must be given new soil and a new flowerpot after being cared for for a period of time. It is just that the repotting period differs for each kind of flower and plant, and naturally Sempervivum is no exception. New soil can assist the plant's root system in its absorption capacity, and when repotting you can also deal with some old roots and rotten roots on the plant's roots, so that these aging roots do not affect the growth of new roots. Generally, Sempervivum only needs to be repotted once every one to two years, and the frequency should not be too high.

When caring for Sempervivum, as long as you can achieve the above six points, getting a full pot of Sempervivum is no problem at all.
