When tending to plants, it's inevitable that you'll accidentally knock off some stems or leaves, and it often breaks your heart for quite a while. When tending to plants, it's inevitable that you'll accidentally knock off some stems or leaves, and it often breaks your heart for quite a while. For succulents, there's no need to say much - if a leaf falls on the ground, you don't even need to bother with it, and before long it will grow into a new succulent on its own. But what about other plants? Actually, many flowers are just like succulents - a fallen leaf dipped in some rooting powder and stuck into a pot can still grow into a new pot of plants. This is called leaf propagation. Today I'll introduce some flowers and plants that can be propagated through leaf cuttings.

ZZ plant

Leaf propagation method:

1. Choose healthy leaves and keep the petioles, dip them in some carbendazim for disinfection

2. Prepare some nutrient soil or other loose, breathable, well-draining soil and put it in a pot, then insert the disinfected leaves diagonally into the soil

3. After spraying water to keep it moist, place the pot in a ventilated, shady spot indoors for care, and roots will grow in 1-2 months.

Snake plant

Leaf propagation method:

1. Choose healthy, wide, thick snake plant leaves, and use disinfected tools to cut sections of about 5-7cm

2. Prepare a potassium permanganate solution or carbendazim solution and soak the cut leaves for 10 minutes, then take them out and let them dry in a shady spot for a day

3. Fill a pot with loose sandy soil and insert the leaves diagonally about 3-4cm deep, then water thoroughly

4. Place the pot in a ventilated spot with diffused light and keep the soil slightly moist. After about 1 month, the snake plant will root.

Kalanchoe

Leaf propagation method:

1. Take healthy kalanchoe leaves with petioles and let the wounds dry in a cool, ventilated spot

2. Fill a pot with nutrient soil, dip the kalanchoe leaves in rooting powder and insert them into the pot, water thoroughly, and place in a ventilated spot with diffused light. Roots will grow in about 2 months.

Note: kalanchoe leaf propagation really does root rather slowly, so be patient!

Peperomia

Leaf propagation method:

1. Choose relatively strong leaves with petioles from the middle and lower part of the peperomia stem, and let the wounds dry in a ventilated spot

2. Fill a pot with disinfected sand and insert the petioles diagonally at a 45° angle

3. After spraying water to keep it moist, place it in a ventilated spot with diffused light, and roots will grow in about 20 days

Geranium

Leaf propagation method:

1. Choose healthy leaves with petioles, wrap the bottom of the petiole with a layer of sponge, and place them in a tray

2. Keep water in the tray and place it in a ventilated spot, and roots will grow in about 2 weeks

3. After rooting, prepare nutrient soil, plant the leaves in it, and wait for new sprouts to emerge.

These flowers can survive with just one leaf, and it's very easy to turn one pot into many. Flower lovers who are interested can pick some healthy leaves and give it a try - no need to spend money on flowers anymore, you can propagate them yourself.
