1.5m planted tank aquascape recreates the world natural heritage site Yakushima

The tank being introduced today uses a 150cmx60cmx60cm ultra-clear glass tank to express the intended aquascape. After the aquascaper saw photos of the natural original scenery of Yakushima online, he wanted to bring that sense of nature into his home...... And 150cm is big enough to express the desired lines and strength by assembling the wood pieces.

At the beginning, a thin layer of soil is spread at the bottom of the tank first, to prevent the glass from being broken when placing stones. Then, after confirming the preset placement of the large main trunk pieces, large stones are placed underneath to keep the overall wood from collapsing. Once the main trunk is confirmed, just like setting up a rock aquascape, the overall structure is expressed and then adjusted following the pattern of main stone, secondary stone, and supplementary stone.

After adjusting to roughly the desired state, add soil to the background and the areas that need soil supplementation up to the required line.Remember, the horizon must be level, otherwise the center of gravity will be unstable. And when adding soil, always observe the state of the supplementation from the front. That way you won't keep adding more and more. During this period, you can confirm your hardscape planning is complete before proceeding to the step of adding water, so that after the water is added, the adjustment process won't cause a landslide or throw the overall composition out of balance, which would make it meaningless.

Because of the large amount of wood placed, it will cause the trouble of tannin discoloration. So usually after confirming and filling with water, aquatic plants will not be planted first. For almost the first week, change 100 percent of the water every day. After the water stabilizes and the discoloration is no longer serious, appropriately add some nitrifying bacteria to quickly cultivate the entire fish tank system.Then you can take a photo and upload it to Paint, and draw here and there to color your hardscape. After confirming the coloring positions,

then plan the coloring positions according to the color and size of your aquatic plants. When planting some moss aquatic plants, you can use aquatic plant instant glue to attach the plants, making the aquascaping easier and simpler.

After the initial arrangement of the aquatic plants is done, then observe the state of the planted aquatic plants, and slowly trim and fine-tune them. Then some small details of the forest can gradually be presented. Look more at the tiny parts of nature, and you will find that in nature, light determines the direction of plant growth. Adjust your details, but remember that sometimes when you put in too much, it is better to appropriately reduce. That way the work will not lose its theme.

After three months, take the first completed aquascape photo. Perhaps there are still some shortcomings that cannot be identified at the moment, but after a year, when you look again at your work from a year ago, you will find where improvements are needed, and perhaps where it could be expressed better.
