More and more people are growing pothos (Epipremnum aureum) these days. Whether in home pots or offices, you'll see pothos everywhere. Pothos is not only a champion at purifying the air, absorbing formaldehyde and beautifying the environment, but it also has remarkably strong vitality - it comes back to life as soon as it touches water, which is why people call it the "flower of life."

A few days ago, a fellow plant lover commented that she was going away for a while, but no one would be home, and she worried the pothos would be done for by the time she returned. She wondered if there was any method that could help her. Today, I'd like to introduce a super simple method for this problem - all you need is a plastic bag!

We prepare a plastic bag. The sturdier the bag, the better, because we're going to fill it with a large amount of clean water.

Then prepare a small knife or scissors and an embroidery needle.

After filling the bag with water, seal the opening tightly, then use scissors to cut off the excess part of the bag, and use the embroidery needle to poke a small hole in the bag. This hole must not be too big, otherwise the water will flow out too fast. The size should be just right - as long as it drips water, that's enough. If the hole is too big, the water flows too quickly and it won't serve the purpose of watering over a long period.

Then we can place the plastic bag in the middle of the pothos plant, and we can head off on our trip with peace of mind. However, this method is only suitable for short trips away from home. If you'll be gone for several months or more than half a year, then it won't work. So for short trips away, we can choose to use this method.
