Flower Growing Encyclopedia
"Qin Qi Shu Hua" is a preschool teacher who especially likes to use bottles and jars to grow flowers. In order to collect ceramic clay jars, over the past more than ten years, she has searched every place around her: her new home, old home, workplace, garden...
So much so that now when she sees an empty bottle, she feels something is missing and cannot help but want to insert a few flower stems
~~
Put some water in the bottle and insert a stem, and it will become very charming. Not only can it hold flowers, it can also decorate the home~
Idle vases, old objects from her grandmother's home, handmade ceramic artworks made by her daughter, leftover cake cups... have all been used by "Shu Hua" to grow flowers, but what she likes most are still clay jars!
Whether or not the clay jars have cracks or broken pieces, with just a simple tidy-up, they can be used to grow good-looking and easy-to-care-for plants like pothos, pennywort, and ivy.
Some of these clay pots and jars were picked up by her on the roadside, some were bought, and most were found in her old hometown in the countryside.
The simple country neighbors always generously gave these things to her. In their words: "Anyway, they are just sitting unused. If you like them, take them."
Besides those given by others, "Shu Hua" also buys them herself. When browsing the market normally, whenever she sees those distinctive old objects, as long as they suit her taste, she will definitely buy them to grow flowers!
Of course, how to grow flowers is key. "Shu Hua" suggests that everyone still determine whether to use soil culture, water culture, or flower arranging according to the size, material, and shape of the clay jar.
If the clay jar is not very large and already has cracks and broken openings, it is suitable for soil culture, such as the one below. No need to worry about breathability!
For large pottery like the ones below, in order to ensure breathability and drainage, holes need to be drilled!
The size and number of holes should be determined according to the size and material of the clay jar.
Drilling holes is physical work. Of course, "Shu Hua" does not need to worry about this. Her husband helps do it all. So enviable
~~
Small clay jars that do not seep water and are glazed can be used for water culture. The outside is glossy, the inside is moist, and the ornamental value is even stronger!
Water culture focuses on growing roots. For root health, you must change the water frequently. It is best to add some charcoal, rusty iron nails, and so on to the water. This prevents rot and can also provide nutrients!
Rough pottery, cracked jars, or clay jars with unique shapes are all used to grow succulents.
Rough pottery has very good breathability. Even in summer, the succulents look very lively.
For flower arranging, there are relatively many materials. Large jars and small bottles, rough pottery and fine porcelain are all fine. The key is matching!
Flower arrangements can be upright, tilted, or hung upside down, all depending on personal preference. "Shu Hua" suggests that beginners not make them too complicated; just make them staggered in height and position. With more practice, your aesthetic sense will gradually improve!
For color matching, same-color schemes and adjacent colors are mainly used, and the visual effect will be more comfortable. Contrasting colors are not impossible either, it is just hard to get the degree right!
Besides ceramic clay jars, "Shu Hua" also likes to use transparent glass bottles for flower arranging. As long as it can hold water, it works!
Beautiful water flower arrangements
Flower Growing Encyclopedia
Idle water bottles, used light bulbs, transparent drink bottles... are all great things for growing flowers!
Light bulbs look inconspicuous, but insert flowers into them and life immediately becomes refined~
Any random stem and an ordinary bottle will glow with a different kind of brilliance in her hands!
When you see the flowers blooming so well, if you do not cut a stem and put it in water, just waiting for it to wither, how wasteful!
The flowers at home are grown so well that many people come to seek her advice. Shu Hua says, "Taking care of flowers and plants is just like taking care of children. Children have different natures and need teaching according to their aptitude. Flowers and plants have different growth habits, and we should also give love according to each plant."
When talking about the influence flower growing has had on her over these years, she said: "A flower, from sprouting and branching out to blooming and bearing fruit, has different beauty at each stage. While discovering beauty, the heart also calms down."
After seeing "Qin Qi Shu Hua"'s works, are you all as enchanted as Huahua?
