Aucuba care methods and precautions

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
Growing Aucuba requires providing it with moist soil conditions, sufficient light and a certain amount of fertilizer. Its propagation mainly uses the cutting method: cut healthy, disease-free branches, insert them into the substrate, then cover with a plastic bag to keep them warm. In summer, you need to watch out for anthracnose, brown spot disease, red spider mites and scale insects. Once discovered, deal with them promptly.

I. Growing conditions

1. Water: Aucuba prefers moisture; do not let the soil dry out, and replenish water in time.

2. Light: It needs to be grown in a place with bright light.

3. Fertilizing: Generally fertilize once a month, preferably with liquid fertilizer.

II. Propagation method

Its commonly used propagation method is cutting. First select healthy, disease-free branches, remove the lower leaves, and place them into the prepared substrate. Then cover them with a plastic bag to maintain temperature. Before long, they will take root.

III. Pest and disease control

1. Diseases: Aucuba's main diseases are anthracnose and brown spot disease. Once discovered, destroy the diseased leaves and promptly treat with chlorothalonil.

2. Pests: Its main pests are red spider mites and scale insects. Once discovered, remove the pests promptly and spray to kill the eggs.
