Anthurium turning yellow and losing old leaves? Put it in the right spot and it recovers in a week

Recently quite a few flower lovers have reported that their anthurium leaves are turning yellow and the plant looks half dead, urging Huahua to hurry up and talk about anthurium. Today, Huahua will explain how to care for anthurium in summer so the leaves stay lush green and the flowers stay bright red!
Daily Care in Summer
The Complete Guide to Flower Growing
To grow anthurium well, you first need to understand what kind of care environment it likes in summer.
1. Bright, indirect light
Anthurium likes bright, indirect light, and generally an indoor spot can meet its light needs.
2. High-humidity environment
Anthurium has very high demands for environmental humidity, and the air humidity needs to reach above 50%. Flower lovers can place a basin of clean water next to the anthurium, or mist the leaves more often.
3. Ventilated environment
Although anthurium likes a high-humidity environment, it has fleshy roots, and once the soil holds too much water and the humidity is too high, the roots rot easily. So while ensuring humidity, be sure to increase ventilation, and it is best to place it by a window without direct sunlight.
Common Problems in Summer
The Complete Guide to Flower Growing
Many flower lovers feel that they are caring for their plants normally, so why does the anthurium still have all kinds of problems? Next, Huahua will give you a detailed answer on why you always fail to grow anthurium well in summer!
1
Yellow leaves
1. Overwatering
Flower lovers always think that water evaporates quickly in summer, so they water the anthurium both morning and evening, and yellow leaves are inevitable. For yellow leaves caused by overwatering, reduce the amount of water in a short period and place the plant in a well-ventilated spot to speed up evaporation.
2. Light too strong
If you put the anthurium in a place with direct light, its leaves easily become scorched and withered. In this case, you need to immediately move the anthurium to a bright, indirect light environment, and it will recover in about a week.
2
Split leaves
1. Humidity too low
Anthurium leaves splitting or turning black is mainly caused by environmental humidity being too low. Flower lovers usually place their anthurium in a relatively large space like the living room, so it is recommended to place a basin of clean water next to the anthurium.
2. Direct light after misting
Some flower lovers ask, why do the leaves still split even though I mist the anthurium every day? This is basically because after misting, the plant was exposed to direct light or strong light, which caused the leaves to split.
3
Root rot
In most cases, overwatering is no longer just about yellow leaves; long-term water accumulation is very likely to cause root rot in anthurium.
Solutions for root rot:
1. Take the anthurium with root rot out of the pot, gently pat off the excess soil from the roots, and rinse them clean with water.
2. If the anthurium is too crowded, divide it first. Then use sterilized scissors to cut off all the rotted parts of the roots.
3. After pruning, soak the anthurium in potassium permanganate solution for disinfection. After about 30 minutes, place it in a ventilated spot to dry.
4. Plant the dried anthurium in separate pots, place it in a cool, ventilated spot to let the roots recover, and maintain air humidity during this period. After about a week, move it to a bright, indirect light environment for normal care.
