Some succulents are different from rosette-type succulents - they only look their cutest when hanging down! Let's take a look together

String of Pearls

Chinese scientific name: Fo Zhu, also known as Green Bell.

Latin scientific name: Senecio rowleyanus

Asteraceae - Senecio genus Senecio - succulent; there is also another kind belonging to the Othonna genus

First, let's talk about what this succulent is called in the market: in mainland China it is mostly called Fo Zhu, in the Taiwan region of China it is mostly called Green Bell, and it is also called Pearl String of Pearls - there really are too many names.

Very easy to grow and easy to propagate. Cut off a small section and you can root it as a cutting - you could say 100% survival! Leaf propagation is very difficult!

When well grown, each bead is emerald green; when short of water, they turn brown and shrivel, and after watering they recover in a day or two.

The sap is slightly toxic, so friends who want to pop them should remember to wash their hands.

Beginners seeing Green Bell would never imagine that this thing is related to chrysanthemums, until they bloom - the typical capitulum and tubular flowers instantly give away their identity. If pollination succeeds and they set fruit, you can also play with the hairy achenes, similar to those of dandelions.

String of Tears

String of Tears is green all over, and the leaves have no particular markings; like Green Bell, it has only one transparent vertical stripe.

The flowers are the same as those of String of Pearls.

Does it look like teardrops?

Jing Tong Zi (Watermelon Taro)

Relatively rare in mainland China; only after searching for information did I learn this one exists - it looks like little watermelons~

Its flowers are also of the same type as those of String of Pearls.

Purple Moon

Super beautiful when it colors up!!! I suggest everyone get one

In English it is called String of Bananas; the "banana string" leaves are generally 1~2 cm long and fairly thick and broad in texture

Burro's Tail

Scientific name: Sedum burrito (Sedum morganianum var. burrito)

A succulent in the Crassulaceae family, Sedum genus, native to Mexico, also known as New Jade String and Victoria Stonecrop. Some scholars consider it a variety of Sedum morganianum.

Heartleaf Ice Plant

Latin name: Mesembryanthemum cordifolium L.f.

Original name: Heartleaf Mesembryanthemum, a succulent in the Aizoaceae family, Mesembryanthemum genus.

The leaves are thick and fleshy, emerald green in color; the flowers bloom at the tips of the branches and are rose red; the flowering period runs from spring to autumn, offering both flowers and foliage, making it an excellent potted flower for decorating the living room or windowsill. It is said the leaves can also be eaten, but they look like they would taste rather ordinary (food lovers can give it a try)

Little Ball Rose

A succulent in the Crassulaceae family, Sedum genus, also called Dragon's Blood Stonecrop. It can also be planted as a groundcover around pots, and its care is quite simple; it also performs very well in summer~

After seeing these colorful waterfalls, the curator is completely enchanted. No more talking, no more talking - the curator is off to buy some~
