How to Grow Anthurium in Water? A Detailed Guide to Care Methods

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
For Anthurium grown in water, give it about 2-3 hours of light and a growing environment of 14-28°C. Change the water every 2-3 days normally, and once every 7 days in winter. In addition, after finding the plant has been harmed by pests or diseases, take control measures promptly and prune off the affected branches and leaves; during care, provide appropriate ventilation to prevent pests and diseases.

I. Growing Environment

1. Light: For Anthurium grown in water, give it about 2-3 hours of light; do not keep it in a dark growing environment without sunlight for a long time. In summer, it is best to place it in a spot with good ventilation and no strong light exposure.

2. Temperature: Summer temperatures are relatively high; the maximum must not be higher than 28°C, and the minimum must not be lower than 14°C. When the temperature is too low, adjust the temperature appropriately so as not to freeze and injure it.

3. Water changes: Change the water regularly, and prune off rotten roots when changing the water. Normally, changing the water once every 2-3 days is enough; the frequency of water changes does not need to be too high, and in winter it can be changed once every 7 days. When changing the water, add a little nutrient solution appropriately.

II. Common Pests and Diseases

1. Common pests include red spider mites, whiteflies, aphids, scale insects, etc. After discovering them, they can be removed manually. Also, ventilate frequently during care; if the pest infestation is relatively severe, use pesticides for spraying.

2. Common diseases include anthracnose, leaf spot disease, wilt disease, etc. Once a disease is found, promptly use the corresponding pesticide for control. And cut off the branches and leaves suffering from the disease as soon as possible, so as not to let it harm more leaves.
