What causes the tips of spider plant leaves to dry out?
1. Dry growing environment
Cause: If the environment where the spider plant is grown is too dry, its leaf tips will easily become dry and withered. Because it likes to grow in a humid environment, if the growing environment is seriously dry, the leaves will not only dry out but also wither.
Solution: At this point, increase the humidity level of the growing environment. You can appropriately spray water on the leaves or beside the plant, which can effectively improve the dry environment. However, when spraying water, note that you must not do it at night or when the temperature is relatively low, so as to avoid frost damage to its leaves.
2. Improper watering at ordinary times
Cause: Many flower growers have a misunderstanding when watering: when watering, they stop watering once they see the surface of the potting soil is moist. If watering continues this way over the long term, the plant's roots cannot absorb water. Its root system will gradually wither, and the leaf tips will also dry out accordingly.
Solution: When watering, you must water thoroughly; there is no need to water it frequently. Generally, water after the soil has dried, and it is best to follow the principle of watering thoroughly only after the soil has dried completely.
3. Compacted soil
Cause: After the soil used to grow the spider plant becomes compacted, no matter how much water is poured, it will be of no help, and the water will also drain out through the drainage holes.
Solution: Repot once every one to two years of growing, and it is best to repot in spring or autumn.
