How to correctly repot a newly bought money tree

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
A money tree that has just been bought generally does not need repotting. If you do want to repot it, first place it in a ventilated spot and wait until the soil dries out before repotting. Before repotting, prepare a new pot and add a small amount of fresh soil. Take the plant out of the old pot, remove part of the old soil, then plant it in the new pot and fill in firmly with soil. Place it in a spot with indirect light and water it once after 2-3 days.

I. Whether to repot

A newly bought money tree generally does not need repotting. This is because it has just arrived in a new environment and has not yet adapted to the conditions in all respects; at this time it is itself rather fragile. If you repot it now, it is very easy to cause it damage. However, if the soil that came with the bought plant is not suitable for its growth, it still needs to be repotted.

II. Repotting method

① A newly bought money tree cannot be repotted immediately; it should be placed in a ventilated spot, and repotting should be done only after the soil has dried.

② Before repotting, first prepare a new pot, lay a layer of tile fragments in the bottom of the pot, then add a small amount of fresh soil.

③ Take the plant out of the old pot, remove the old soil on the premise of not damaging the root system, then place the plant into the new pot.

④ Fill the gaps with fresh soil, then place it in a spot with indirect light and begin watering after 2-3 days. The first watering should be thorough.
